With a vision to impart the ideal education, four great men established a legend by laying the foundations of Nalanda and render more respect for their cause than their profession.
Late I V Kameswara Rao
Late I V Kameswara Rao began as an MA post-graduate from Andhra University and a long and fruitful time in education made him the president of the Nalanda Academy of Sciences. A vibrant voice that stood out in debates at inter-university competitions, later became the voice of learning in 1956 at the Andhra Loyola College Visakhapatnam and rang its corridors till 1988. Being into the profession of teaching, he was committed to the benefits of the students and his dynamic personality inspired many young souls. He was a person of rational living and high thinking, and Nalanda stands as living testimony for his commitment and ideology.
Late Sri K Basava Purnaiah
A son of a farmer with an accomplished academic records, then a physics lecturer at the Andhra Loyola College for 30 years and finally one among the four founders of Nalanda. Hailing from Guntur, Sri K Basava Purnaiah is a personality of depth with an ever smiling face and infinite dynamism. His futuristic thinking and ideology have formed the basis of the Nalanda monolith. Predicting the future changes in the education system, he strived to give the future generations the best education with values and became one of the four visionaries of Nalanda.
